A pounding in his skull was drilling right through to his brain. Scrunching up his face, he rolled onto his side. Someone was there. ...
And - oh shit - they were awake--
The other male rubbed his eyes.
'So you're finally awake, huh?' He teased.
Gray groaned, 'Why'd it have to be you, flame-brain?' He trailed off, wandering whether to ask him about the night before or not. ... well, he'd have to find out somehow. 'Hey, um... you know what happened.. last night..?'
Natsu paused, obviously thinling about this, 'Yeah I do-'
'Well?'
'Mixing drinks..?'
'Ugh, flame-brain - I told you not to mix caffeine with alcohol! It always ends badly.'

Her life lays before her playing and learning how to fend for themselves
Her job now is to see them make it that far.
In the harsh wilderness with owls prowling skies and hungry bears in the woods,
The task is sometimes overwhelming, but Mom is not shaken by her task.
These young ones before her will grow strong under her watch, and within a short while
Perhaps she will see her family expand, perhaps not, but her task for now is to see her children grow
And she will do anything in her power to see it through.
It wasn't long ago she was but a child herself,
And she's seen the struggles firsthand through
Mange and motor vehicle, and while she knows the city
Better than any human, she is still always cautious.

The Rain FallsThe breeze blew against Christine, whipping and swirling the leaves around her. She looked up at her childhood home and her stomach began to tie itself in knots. “Hey wait up!” Christine smiled; there was Lea to make her feel right, just when she needed it. She turned and looked as Lea darted across the lawn and Christine sighed, and smiled, and giggled. Lea joined her on the porch, “Just what are you so smiley about?” Christine drew her in close, “I am smiling, because my blushing-bride-to-be is an amazing woman.” Lea glanced around, and confident they were alone, she planted a quick kiss on Christine, and rested her hand on the ring around a small golden chain around her neck.
They had started dating when they were freshman in college. It was a new roommate, at first, and then fast friends, and soon best friends. Then it was a cold night and a warm blanket they shared. The heat had gone out the night before winter break began, and so they shared a
HonestyToday, Benny told me to throw away my soul.
See, my soul is bared upon the walls of my apartment; I’ve always been in the habit of cutting it up and sticky tacking it to my room. Even when I was a baby, I drooled on my knuckles and patted the saliva against my crib. I felt drawn to marking things. Like a destiny.
Anyways, Benny says it’s dirty to put such personal things where everyone can see, but I’m the only one who ever sees them. Not even Benny. He doesn’t visit my apartment, and I don’t ask him to.
I process the pieces of my soul in shallows vats of water inside a darkroom across the street. I like to watch them develop—first, the gray imprint, and then slowly the features that follow. Images. Yesterday I processed three pieces of my soul: the first is Benny and I lying on his bed. The second is a weed I stepped over walking home from his house. The third is my hair after a shower. It may seem dull, but my soul tells the whole truth, even the b

[CE] Glass Dome    “You know what? This is a really, really bad idea.”
“Too late now - go faster!”
Max was right; turning back was not an option. Peering downwards, Soso could see the flashing lights of the city’s Skybots in pursuit. She could also see Max’s ridiculously long, crimson scarf flapping about wildly in the wind. Soso snorted at its pathetic attempts to imitate a bird. She bent down and gingerly ran her hand along the ice-cold metal of her Flyboard. Feeling the speed dial, she clicked it up a few notches, rocketing up to Max’s height and turning it down again to prevent overheating her board.
“That’s a safety hazard, you know,” Soso said, with a gesture to the red offender.
Max scowled. “It matches my Flyboard, stupid. I look so cool right now.”
And the boy wonder was right again, she had t

“You mean when you accidentally knocked off an arm? Yeah, totally in control.”
Jerry crossed his arms, glaring at his best friend. “Dude. Not helping.”
Laughing, Jerry's friend started walking, ducking underneath old beams and kicking away chance lose rocks. “Anyway, I think I should be the one to do it this time. Go in, tie you up, and boom. Easy.”
Jerry followed at a slightly slower pace, shaking his head. “Braden. How long has it been? Three months? It's not like I've been hanging out in formaldehyde. You gotta be careful.”
Braden rolled his eyes, glancing at sharp metal sticking out of a dirt pile. “Look around! We're in a construction site. There are bigger things to worry about. Like, for instance, losing your remaining arm?”
Jerry lifted his left arm, flexing pale fingers. He stared at the limb curiously. “I wonder if i
<da:thumb id="570496539"/>   Daniel prompt shortThree days before they were to meet, the letter arrived.
At the time, he'd thought nothing of it. It was, after all, the time of year to send around the officially-stamped letters from the Great House, their outsides swathed in a deep crimson that advertised urgency. Taxes overdue, matters concerning sorcery needing to be sent to council heads, all sorts of things that, in the end, were part and parcel to a bureaucracy he wanted no parts of.
Even after all these years, he still didn't belong there anyway.
The food house at the edge of town was small but cozy, and it was there that he took most of his meals when he wasn't working. In time, Vaerian food, with its magic-infused spices and meats, no longer bothered his stomach the way it had when he'd been a boy--a frightened boy, all gangling legs and arms, wandering in a pained daze, clothing tattered from the force of his journey--but he still needed to be careful of the excess spice that was so common in the country's winter far
